By registering for the event hosted by SVIEF (“Event”), you acknowledge that this Waiver and Release of Liability (“Release”) will: (a) govern your actions and (b) be used by SVIEF and their affiliates companies.
You acknowledge that your participation in the Event is voluntary. You further acknowledge that participating in the Event is a potentially hazardous activity. You have read this liability waiver and understand the inherent risks with this Event.
You should not participate unless you are medically able and in good health. You assume all risks associated with participating in the Event, including, but not limited to: slip and fall, accidents, failure of equipment owned, maintained or controlled by SVIEF, other participants or the venue, with all such risks being known and appreciated by you.
Having read this Release and knowing these facts, for yourself and anyone entitled to act on your behalf, you waive and release SVIEF, SVTIC(Silicon Valley Technology Innovation Club, Inc. and their employees, officers, directors, affiliates, shareholders, representatives, and successors (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in the Event.
You hereby indemnify, hold harmless, and promise not to sue the Released Parties from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in the Event, whether caused by the negligence of Released Parties or otherwise.
You further acknowledge that you have medical insurance to cover any and all medical services in the event that medical assistance is needed and hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this Event.
You agree that any disputes that may arise that are in any way related to participation in the Event or this Release are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the federal and state courts in the County of Santa Clara, California to whose jurisdiction you exclusively and irrevocably submit.
You certify that you are twenty-one (21) years of age or older; you have read this document; and you understand its contents. By registering for the Event, you are deemed to have agreed to these terms.

If the team who is applying for the SVIEF (or SVIEF-STAR) related services owns a US patent, it must meet the relevant legal conditions and hold a valid patent that has been confirmed by U.S. law. SVIEF has no liability in reviewing the authenticity and validity of the patent(s) involved. You have responsibility of the compliance with the CFIUS regulation. If your company falls into any category that’s considered illegal, and/or contains any sensitive or confidential information (includes but not limited to military industry, nature resource, etc.), SVIEF has the right to cancel your application at any time without your consent. SVIEF reserves the right to share information to third-party organizations or investors for investment and advisory purposes. Applicants will take full responsibility for any disadvantages due to mistakes or omissions on the application.
