Code of Conduct

Report incidents to SVIEF staff by calling +1 6505679999 or emailing codeofconduct@svief.org . If you are experiencing an emergency, dial 911.

SVIEF will not tolerate any type of harassment of attendees, including the following but not limited to:

  1. Inappropriate physical contact
  2. Unwelcome sexual attention
  3. Display of sexual images in public spaces
  4. Deliberate verbal or physical intimidation
  5. Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  6. Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviors

Because of the following but not limited to:

  1. Race
  2. Ethnicity
  3. Gender
  4. Gender identity and expression
  5. Disability
  6. Physical appearance
  7. Body size
  8. Age
  9. Religion

As an attendee, you are expected to abide by the guidelines set above. At SVIEF’s discretion, those deemed in violation will be removed from the venue immediately without a refund and barred from future SVIEF events. If you experience or witness a Code of Conduct violation, report it to SVIEF staff by calling +1 (650) 567-9999 or emailing codeofconduct@svief.org> You may also report it directly to:

  1. Security staff stationed throughout the venue
  2. SVIEF volunteers, identifiable by their SVIEF T-shirts
  3. SVIEF employees

We base the SVIEF Code of Conduct on the principles of inclusion, equality, diversity and respect. These guidelines are necessary to ensure that everyone can safely enjoy SVIEF events. By purchasing a ticket to, working for, vending at or sponsoring any SVIEF event, conference and conference-related social event, you agree to the policies set forth above.
